greening JEFFERSON PARK

Jefferson park has a long history of favoring trees and green space!

Water Harvesting AND NEIGHBORHOOD CLEAN-UP

Annie Lester, Jefferson Park's original homesteader, named the streets near her home after trees she knew from her native Germany.  Hence, we have Seneca, Waverly, Linden... Those names are now present from the east to the west in Tucson.  Traffic circles calm traffic in the neighborhood and shade intersections.  On Vine Avenue, located in the eastern part of the neighborhood water harvesting basins have been installed with the help of grants from Tucson's C2E, Water Harvesting, and neighbor volunteers. Annie Lester would be proud of the tree-lined streets on her homestead!
The Jefferson Park Green Committee continues to be active planting trees and promoting green space. Contact Joan Hall if you wish to participate in Greening Projects
