NOISE/UNRULY GATHERINGS  Jefferson Park worked with the city of Tucson Police Department to inform residents how to report unruly gatherings. This document gives step by step instructions.  Click on red cup  to see document.

An unruly gathering can take place at any time of day.  If you suspect underage drinking it is important to mention it when reporting.  If you see any dangerous activity associated with the gathering be sure to report it.

CITY WEED ORDINANCE
SUMMER RAINS BRING—WEEDS!  Monsoon rains sure make weeds grow. In the City of Tucson, you could get cited if you let them grow too tall. Some quick facts:

  • Anything over six inches in height is a code violation. That’s the length of a dollar bill.
  • Noncompliance of Tucson city code results in a civil citation. Fines are anywhere from $200 to $2,500.
  • Green weeds house rodents, mosquitoes and other insects, dried out weeds are a fire hazard.
  • Inspections and citations are complaint driven
Tucson code inspectors have responded to 1860 weed complaints in 2007. Here’s a great opportunity for neighborly good deeds. If you have elderly neighbors, maybe you could offer to help pull their weeds. If you are near an abandoned lot, or have a problem near you, you may make a complaint. The City of Tucson phone number to make a complaint is 791-5843

PARKING REGULATIONS
PARKING IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD – IN A NUTSHELL
Watch for "PARKWISE"  signs!  Because of our proximity to the UofA, the southern part of the neighborhood is part of the Parkwise program with only certain times for on-street parking.
The following applies to parking generally in the neighborhood (Tucson Code Section 20).
  • No parking within 5 feet of driveway curb cuts
  • No parking within 30 feet of a stop sign
  • No parking within 10 feet of an alley or 15 feet of a hydrant
  • No parking on street with expired tags
  • No parking in same spot for more than 48 hours
  • No parking in right of way, whichever way you face. That means on the sidewalk, or where one would be if installed.
Some of these are a bit of a surprise because we see it all the time. However, ParkWise, Tucson’s parking enforcement has issued a warning to all neighborhoods. If ParkWise doesn’t get you, TPD can and will ticket at any hour. Also, don’t park facing the wrong direction for traffic flow…even for a minute.
