- "With all due respect, we need to clean up the alleys. Students are constantly dumping furniture and homeless are constantly digging through the garbage and spilling it all over the alley, let alone creating unsanitary encampments. Also, our garbage cans are getting filled up by nonresidents. I catch them back there all the time, they flip me off and drive away. We need some serious help here. Enough with the speed humps they're ugly and they don't work. Come to my house and watch people fly over the speed hump all day. It creates excessive noise from braking and squeaking, increases air pollution and quite frankly ruins our curb appeal. We were so excited to buy our cute little house in Tucson and the aesthetic has been ruined. Thank you? All the yellow spray paint on the road (it does not go away) and rocks and yellow spikes look awful and property values go down. It's also a huge deterrent for emergency vehicles. Next time you want a speed hump put one in front of your house, not mine. If you've got money to spare, do something that will actually help the neighborhood. How about some more street lighting? Security cameras? My house got burglarized last year. There are unleashed dogs and poop everywhere. It's fun to go for a walk and get attacked by a loose dog. My wife has to avoid certain streets to avoid loose dogs. How about some help trimming trees that are encroaching upon service lines? It's very expensive. Maybe do some research on what the actual problems are in this neighborhood instead of a few people just guessing that we need new signs and more useless speed humps."
- "Definitely a fan of traffic circles over speed bumps. More neighborhood signs feel... unnecessary; given the choice between the two, more little free libraries are functional, and (IMO) more effective ways to communicate community values such as literacy, implicit mutual trust, sharing resources being more important than flaunting wealth, etc. Thanks for all that you do!"
- "Thanks for all you do!"
- "More trees in linear park. water.working water fountain at bus stop on Mountain. Paving between Warren and Mountain"
- "I'd love to see the traffic-slowing measure where the city removes some pavement from the street/narrows the streets slightly and adds in water catchment basins (e.g. along 9th st between Park Ave and Higland Ave). I'd also love to have sidewalks in our neighborhood, especially if we could make them with permeable surfaces (again, this way rainwater can get back in the ground to recharge the aquifer). I know that a few stretches have sidewalks, but most in the immediate area near my house (Linden x Higland) do not. Lastly, I would love to see us do more with basins, curb cuts, and planting trees/native species in general, akin to Dunbar Spring. Thanks!!"
- "I especially enjoyed the neighborhood festival at the International School and the annual plant sale. I hope enough seed money is kept to fund these projects in the future.
- "Neighborhood citrus harvesting"
- "I love the signage to promote the JP Neighborhood. I also think that planting more trees and creating natural traffic solutions would be better than speed humps. The traffic circles are better."
- "Love the signs and stuff but traffic mitigation feels the most important. Working from home has made me realize how people treat Lester like a freeway! And I’m sure the other roads are similar"
- "We as a neighborhood need to organize and run a campaign of some sort to prevent U of A employees using the southern section of JP as a parking lot. Enough is enough"
- "Consider some traffic calming on Warren. There is only one 4 way stop on Warren between the hospital and Grant. People are going 40-45MPH on Warren."
- "What is the difference between highly important and extremely important? Regarding entrance signs off of Grant, I don't think people would see it anyway, the traffic moves too quickly. Would like to know how we can get more sidewalks. How can we do a better job of preventing crime?"
- "What really needs to happen first before signage or free libraries, is to grind and re-lay new road throughout the Eastern section of Jefferson Park between Mountain Ave and Campbell Ave. We can incorporate the cost of traffic mitigation efforts at the various named intersections into the cost of laying down new roadways."
- "Need: Traffic study, neighborhood wide plan for water harvesting"
- "Fix streetlights around the neighborhood"
